Arkansas Heritage Program of ANHC is a member of NatureServe. AHP makes out the important ecological areas and assigns priorities to protect them and thereby preserve the biodiversity. To work on this project, the ANHC maintain a database of the locations and the rare species. The database contains information on 800 rare animal and plants. AHP has appointed staffs to carry out filed surveys and make sure about the rare species in the past. This type of survey may lead to the discovery of new species in an undocumented happening for which the necessary protection can be arranged to preserve the species.
